There are a LOT of headshots happening over here — A LOT. And I am not much of a blogger. Here are a few favorites from some past shoots that I really enjoyed creating. I love all my clients, and just because I don’t feature you — don’t worry! Its not because I didn’t love your shoot! Give me some time, I will eventually catch up blogging! (someday ;) maybe)
Your headshot can help brand your business — It is often one of the first points of contact your client will have. Seeing who you are, how you present yourself and the overall image make an impression. How do you want to be seen? What look appeals to you that is cohesive with your business? Are colors important? Wardrobe styling? Body language? All these components are important. All of them work together to create the look and message you want to communicate. I love it when my clients put a lot of thought into this. It DOES make a difference.
There really are no rules when it comes to senior portraits — ideally, both parents and kids will be happy with the end result and the goal is to capture, celebrate and create something to look back on. Look back on in wonderment, pride and nostalgia. Well done parents - your kiddo is ready to fly the nest and take on the world. I know I’ll be in this position someday, sooner than I’ll be ready, I am sure. Way to go Senior! The world is ahead of you - ready for your mark.

Sometimes, to get past that stuck feeling, I need to create something very specific, just for me… In this case it was using all the red roses for a red-themed portrait. And my vision was realized and its just so darn gratifying to take something in your head and make it into a real tangible thing. Its a process, this creativity thing.
